The Lab

Where stories are tested before cameras roll.

The Lab is Cerulean Star Productions' working creative space—a place to put material on its feet before production begins.

Writers hear their words spoken aloud. Actors explore characters and relationships. Directors test ideas. Scenes can be questioned, adjusted, broken apart, and rebuilt without the pressure of a shooting day.

Some sessions are structured around a specific script or project. Others are simply opportunities to experiment, learn, rehearse, or solve a creative problem together.

Nothing has to be perfect here. That's the point.

HOW IT WORKS

The Lab is a virtual working space built to make participation easy, flexible, and focused on the work.

Sessions are held online, allowing writers, actors, and other creative collaborators to participate from wherever they are. Each Lab is centered around a specific purpose—whether that's reading a new script, exploring characters, rehearsing scenes, testing revisions, or working through a creative problem.

There is no expectation that material arrive polished. In fact, bringing work into The Lab while questions still exist is part of the process. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, offer observations, experiment, and occasionally discover that the thing everyone thought would work absolutely does not.

That's useful information, too.

Format: Virtual

Schedule: Sessions are scheduled around current projects and development needs.

Sessions: Table reads, rehearsals, script development, character work, scene exploration, and creative problem-solving.

Participation: The Lab currently operates by invitation, bringing together collaborators whose experience or perspective can contribute to the work being explored.
